Formats Accepted:
We accept almost all
formats, but some are better than others. This is a guideline;
You can call if you need more info.
If you read nothing else, READ THIS...
DO NOT add
any compression or Limiting to the Final Mix.
Keep your master level at -3 to -6 db.
Do not try to make your mix super hot, we
will do that, I promise!!!
This will
ensure the hottest, cleanest sounding CD.
Best:
Data files are better than an audio
CD...Use the "export" or "bounce to disk" function in your
DAW program. Save it to a folder on your computer and then
transfer it to a CD-R or DVD as "Data" , not audio.
16 or
24 bit .wav files (CD-R or CD-RW)
16 or 24 bit .aiff files (CD-R or CD-RW)
Use 24 bit if you recorded in 24 bit.
Almost any digital based workstation will export to the above
formats. (Pro-Tools, Sonar, Cakewalk, Cubase, Logic, Samplitude,
etc.)
Good:
Standard Audio CD (The type you burn on your computer)
DAT (Digital Audio Tape)
Analog Tape Reel 1/4" or 1/2"
Worst:
Should
only use if no other formats available!
Cassette Tape
Mini Disc
MP-3 File
WMA File

Directions for
submission:
You must fill out an
order form ( we will not process without one).
Please read the following:
-
You should
give us a mix that is roughly -3 db to -6db (below digital
"0"), This gives us the most room to work and assures a
clean, clip free master.
-
Your CD
should be under 74 minutes to adhere to the "Redbook"
standard. This will make sure that there will be no errors
during duplication.
-
Do not try
to make your songs louder by Normalizing, adding Compression
or by using a Limiter. These methods will only hurt us in
being able to give you the best, loudest, punchiest Master.
We use only "High End" equipment and we will get your songs
to the right volume.
-
Use the
highest resolution possible. Always send us what you recorded
at. If you recorded at 24 bit / 48kHz, then send us the mix
at 24/48. If you recorded at 16 bit, then send at 16 bit. DO
NOT DITHER DOWN. Again, our converters are of the highest
quality and you will notice a difference if we do the
converting.
-
Do Not use
any "all in one" Mastering boxes, such as the Alesis
Masterlink or TC Finalizer. These boxes will color the
sound and will leave us with less room to work.
-
Do not use
any Mastering software. Again, this will only hurt your final
product.
-
You do not
need to fade out your songs or clean the front of them. We
will clean the beginnings so that they start exactly on the
first note. We will fade out using a standard 20 second fade,
or we will let the song end naturally and just clean the end.
-
We will add
2 seconds between songs. Please let us know if you want a
different spacing or if you require any cross fades.
-
Please list
the song names and order you want them clearly on the order
form.
Sorry for so many rules, however, you are
hiring us to give you a Quality, Professional Product. This is
how we do it. Home /
